Hi, it's Bill Jackoboice, golfer and matchbook collector

Philadelphia Cricket Club is an incredibly special place with a long history of sports, cricket, golf, swimming and racket sports. The Club has two locations, Philadelphia and Flourtown, where, in the long shadow of the Liberty Bell, sits Philly Cricket's crown jewel the Wissahickon course.

A stout Tillinghast beauty renovated by Keith Foster in 2013. Foster removed more than 1,000 trees that allowed the greens to be rebuilt to their original size and tees and fairways flourished in the process bringing it back to the grit and toughness Tilly designed in the Golden Era. The views are wonderful and on the first tee, your curiosity rises as you can see most of what you're about to encounter for the next few hours. The greens are impeccable, the surrounds challenging but fair and the overall feeling of the course is a comfortable uneasyness.

The list of adjectives for this beauty is lengthy and the hyperbole warranted. The golf staff, greens crew & everyone else I met couldn't have been more gracious and helpful. With one of the greatest logos in golf; capturing the history of the club (cricket) and golf combined to memorialize that legacy, one can't help but leave w a great bag of memories.
